What is School Development?
The following information has been accessed from the Department of Educationwebsite.
- School development is a systematic approach to change at the school level designed to guide and focus a school towards the achievement of its mission – enhanced student learning. Developed within the context of both the provincial and district strategic education plans, a School Development Plan reflects the uniqueness of the local school environment. The Newfoundland and Labrador School Development Model is a results oriented process that involves collective reflection, analysis, problem solving, planning, and continuous improvement leading to the attainment of specific school goals. To learn more about the process, please visit the Department of Education website.
For the 2013-2014 school year, we are in year 4 of our School Development plan. With the amalgamation of the school boards for this school year, we eagerly await the development of the Newfoundland and Labrador English School District 3 year plan. In 2014-2015 Roncalli will begin the internal review process and we will work to develop our new 3-5 year School Development plan that will be linked to the goals of the province and will highlight the goals of our school.
